Mardi Gras – El Paso 2014

Well it’s that time of year again… Time to Indulge.

Mari Gras or Fat Tuesday is upon us once again and time to indulge in all that temptation right before the season of Lent. Many El Pasoans will flock to the many events in and around El Paso.

This is my second year back in El Paso and I am learning of all the events that are put on in many parts of the city.

mardigras-300x152For those looking for an array of different places to indulge, Cincinnati Street maybe your kind of place. Known as “Bourbon Street on Cincinnati Street,” this year the Cincinnati Entertainment District will have lots of entertainment to please even the pickiest partygoer.  There will be beads, food and drinks sold at the 10 bars and restaurants in a fenced in area near the University of Texas at El Paso. Admission is $10 and you can party from 4p.m. until 2a.m.

Union Plaza in Downtown will host its own Fat Tuesday Street Party. The Garden, Tabla, 1914 Lounge, The Plum, Black Pearl, The Union Club & Drinkery, Brick & Mortar, and NV will take part in the festivities. There will be multiple stages features live music and entertainment by some of El Paso’s top DJ’s.  Many of the restaurants and street vendors will offer Creole – inspired favorites. Admission will be $10 and doors will open at 5:00pm.

So if you are looking for a great party right before Lent, Both Union Plaza and Cincinnati Street seem like the place to drink and eat till your heart’s desire. However, if you going to part take in the festivities make sure and have a designated driver. Have a Fun & SAFE Fat Tuesday!!
